Windows of Hope

Across the world, people are staying home more. There aren’t as many social gatherings, not as much contact with others. Community looks different. One of the trends that has caught on is to decorate windows and windowsills with signs of encouragement and hope, bright flowers, plants and decorations that bring a smile to those looking in. Simple reminders of hope and hospitality provide passersby with reassurance. Rainbows, words that bring solace, and heartening pictures bring people together, even when there are walls in between them. This could be a definition of the Gospel: covert community, encouragement to those looking in from the outside, and hope and hospitality, even when it’s hard.
