By the time you read this, I will have had my first fertility treatment. It’s nerve-wracking & a bit anxiety-inducing, but overall hopeful. I looked back on this post from a year & 7 months ago almost to the day & I was just learning to cope with the reality of my infertility. We’ve been trying to have a baby for over 6 years now & you could say I’ve been through all the stages of grief: denial, anger, bargaining, depression & acceptance. My acceptance only came after I decided to surrender it to God. I realized there wasn’t a THING in the world I could do about it but pray. But today, July 26, 2018 is the day of my very first treatment of my very first fertility cycle. And I have new hope.
As I started the first devo of Revival Camp last night, I read the scripture Shanna brings us to:
“May the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope,” (Romans 15:13 ESV)
Do I believe it’s any coincidence that this is the passage I read the night before my first treatment? Not for a second. God brought Shanna to this passage, just as He brought me to it in turn at the very perfect moment. Absolutely remarkable! So THIS… this is why I have hope. I have every reason to believe with my whole heart that He wants good things for my husband & I. He is the God of joy & peace. The Lord has been setting up the perfect moment my entire life & an infinite time before that. He has gone before me & paved this path. He fills me with hope. And whatever the outcome, it will be OK either way.
