As I read through the prompts in the last session of the 2020 Vision devotional kit, Wisdom Vision, I realized that Tiffani’s words echoed those from my church’s current sermon series. Don’t you just love when messages overlap like that?! I don’t know about you, but it makes my ears perk up and really listen in!
We too are looking to Proverbs to teach us wisdom and discipline and how to do what is wise, fair and just. We started a series called Mastering the Art of Living which teaches what it looks like to pursue wisdom instead of other things like comfort, money or pleasures.
“indeed, if you call out for insight and cry aloud for understanding, and if you look for it as for silver and search for it as for hidden treasure, then you will understand the fear of the LORD and find the knowledge of God.”(Proverbs 2:3-5, NIV)
Today my project is a collision of sermon notes and Wisdom Vision takeaways! The perfect set for such a task is Brianna Showalter’s Print & Pray Shop release Dreamer. She includes plenty of journaling cards, both blank and those with prompts, beautiful florals, tabs and watercolor faux washi.
To hold all of my notes I thought it best to make a traveler’s notebook spread. First, I started by identifying the three big points I wanted to pull from both Tiffani’s devo and my sermon notes. I stamped those “titles” using the Stencil Alpha stamp. Because I’m working with Brianna’s pieces, and she is a brilliant watercolor artist, I thought it would be fun to add watercolor to my stamped words.
The elements I used from the Dreamer set were all printed on clear sticker paper. This almost makes it look as though I painted them on spread ;) Next I added my notes using the Journal Crush stamp set and punctuated my spread with Brianna’s fun watercolor wordfetti.
So as we continue to make our way into 2020 we can seek His wisdom, knowing He is generous and will give it to those who ask (James 1:5).
