Hi friends! How’s your 2020 going? For my family, it’s been a rough start. We had that nasty bug that lasts forever starting on Christmas day, and then just as I was finally starting to feel a little bit better and not coughing as much… I threw my back out and have basically been stuck to bed or couch since Christmas. Being down and out meant finding a way to still be creative and studying my Bible. I loved Tiffani’s 2020 Vision devotional. It kept me at least studying a passage every day. My biggest struggle was my need to be creative. I think a lot of us feel that way, we realize the need for creative time for worship and to keep me sane in the middle of chaos. Since we had been sick since Christmas, I still had everything packed from vacation. This made it easy for me to set up my stuff and still be able to prop myself up on the couch with my ice packs and Bible.

One of my favorite verses was one of the prompts for Wisdom Vision, James 1:5. It’s a constant reminder that asking for wisdom is more than just asking for wisdom. We can’t receive wisdom unless we act on our request. I find that there is always an action that follows prayer. We can pray without studying our Bible and we can’t study our Bible without talking to God. The two go together like peanut butter and jelly. For this reason, I love the little prescription card that was in the ephemera pack. It was perfect for writing out our daily prescription for wisdom… read your Bible and pray often.

So… here’s my setup on my couch… just because I couldn’t paint doesn’t mean I couldn’t Bible journal. I miss getting messy, but I loved that while I was antsy sitting on the couch, I could still spend time being creative in my Bible study time.

My biggest pointer is to make sure you have the essentials… a pen, your devotional, and a Bible is all you really need.

Absolutely inspiring! Bible journaling is a wonderful way to combine creativity and spirituality. James 1:5 is such a fitting verse for this journey, emphasizing the importance of seeking wisdom. The act of journaling not only helps us understand the message at a deeper level but also allows us to express our own reflections and connections. What a beautiful way to engage with Scripture and let its wisdom resonate in our lives. Also visit pink birds in australia
