Welcome to Camp Living Hope! Friends, it’s so good to see you. We’ve been praying for your arrival, and we are so excited for you to fully explore and discover The Overflowing Hope found only in Jesus!

Have you discovered how wonderful it is to sit quietly in nature, soaking in all its glorious wonder? There’s nothing quite like gazing up at a family of majestic redwoods, inhaling their sweet aroma, and feeling the sun’s warmth radiating upon your face. You breathe in deeply and exhale all of life’s cares. Clouds drift lazily overhead, and as you behold the Lord’s creative hand at work, you may feel small, wondering what you, a mere human in the Lord’s vast creation, has to offer. Then, a smile broadens across your face as you catch a glimpse of a few squirrels scampering up a tree in a game of tag. How marvelous is our Father’s creation!

Whenever we’re immersed in the artistry of nature, we’re reminded that we have a wise and loving Creator who also powerfully sustains it all – including us, His sweetest creation. As His sweetest creation, you are a vital steward in His amazing plan – this is your life’s ultimate adventure this side of heaven. Did you say, ultimate adventure? Will I have to repel from great heights? Kayak down turbulent rapids, or zipline blindly through the trees? You may be wondering what purpose He has for you to fulfill. You may be coming out of a hard season or just entering into one. You may be dancing through meadows of grace, filled with His Joy to overflowing, or mourning the loss of a job, a dream, or a loved one. Just like those clouds drifting overhead have a purpose in God’s grand plan, so do you. Jesus, our Living Hope, longs to equip us to live out our lives through His beautiful and redeeming love.

Intro for July:

Welcome to Camp Living Hope! If you’re just joining us, we’re so happy you decided to fully explore and discover the overflowing Hope found only in Jesus! For those of you continuing on from session one, we are excited to extend our adventure with you!

God’s creation is astounding! The diversity of His landscapes, the never-ending palette of colors – intricately placed upon His canvas, and His vast array of wild-life, leaves the mind swirling in its senses. When we consider the size of His star-filled night sky, it’s impossible to fathom the fullness of all creation. Every created thing displays His sweet care and wisdom, because He has lovingly thought through every detail. (Nehemiah 9:6) Friends, this detail includes you: His sweetest creation. You were created to play a vital role in stewarding God’s amazing plan here on earth.

(Colossians 1:16) If you doubt your ability and uniqueness even for a moment, consider this. There are 17,958 adjectives describing human characteristics alone: brave, compassionate, powerful, timid, thoughtful, etc… When you add in each individual’s talents, abilities, tastes, interests, attitudes, and values, an infinite number of possibilities are produced. Surrounded by His colossal creation and endless personalities, you might wonder how we, a sinfully flawed people, will ever rightly steward our purpose here on earth. Be encouraged, our wise and loving Father didn’t bring you this far to leave you hanging. He is The Sustainer of it all! Emily

Dickinson often included God’s creation in her writings. She wrote a beautiful poem about living a life filled with hope, “Hope is the thing with feathers” Hope is portrayed as a small bird, its song the most beautiful amidst trials and challenges. Faithfully stewarding our walk with Jesus displays not only His beauty, but the unfailing power of the gospel. Friends, you have a purpose in God’s grand plan, and Jesus, our Living Hope, will equip you every step of the way through His beautiful and redeeming love.
