Devotional | Word Nerd 2025

I’m so glad you’re here! I’m excited and honored to be sharing this Nerd project with you. I am a nerd in many senses of the word, but I am enthusiastically a nerd of the Word. Thanks be to God, since that wasn’t always the case. Before we jump into class together, I wanted to start by sharing what I’m not. I am not the most Bible literate Christian. I don’t have years of seminary and intense study under my belt. I struggle to connect themes throughout Scriptures, and I wrestle with interpreting passages. And I will not be your teacher for the next four weeks – the Holy Spirit will be. We will be learners together. What I am is a woman of sound mind who possesses a Bible in her own language and who makes serious attempts to equip herself with it. I am a child of God and a student of His Word.
And since you’re here, I gather you are too. Let’s walk to class together.
