Glad Tidings

When joy gets a little misplaced in all the shuffling of the season, I often think of the shepherds in the fields that special night the Savior was born. They were just ordinary men going about the mundane but brave work before them when an angel appeared with the most incredible announcement – the promised Savior has been born! I don’t think it was by chance that God chose the ever-watchful and lowly to be the first to receive the good news. That the first visitors to lay eyes on the holy Babe who would reconcile all mankind back to Him were gifted to the seemingly humble in this world. What a treasure of glad tidings and inexpressible joy God has given to this ordinary but watchful world.
