Rest Here Devo (digital)

Description

I’m Kristina and am probably one of the least qualified people to write on the topic of rest, but isn’t that how God works? He calls us and, even if we feel ill-equipped, He equips us. So, here I am, stepping out in obedience to what God placed on my heart over a year ago. I’m filled with so much gratitude and truly excited for you to join me on this journey through this devotional! In the beginning I was like, “You sure about this, God?”, but I know that He knows what He’s doing (why in the world did I even question that?!). I also know that God has a purpose for it all and that includes putting this tiny devotional spark in my heart, and growing it into a giant flame for His glory.

As I sat down to write this devotional, I felt the Lord prepare my heart in so many ways. Rest is one of those things that is usually pushed aside and not made a priority in our lives. Rest has always been sort of a fight for me. I’ve struggled with feeling guilty for resting and also have battled with resting my mind, too. The older that I get, the more I see how beneficial rest really is, and so, I guess you can call me a work-in-resting-progress right now. Maybe that’s you, too?

Friend, did you know that we’re commanded to rest? Just as God’s provision allows the trees to shed their leaves in the fall to rest and prepare for new growth, He also wants us to find those moments of rest throughout our lives, too. We are made for resting.

I bet if you were to honestly ask yourself if you are getting the physical and spiritual rest you really need in your life right now, your answer would probably be a pretty convicting … nope. Well, you’re not alone.

It’s time, friend. Time to give your body, mind and soul the rest it needs by resting in the only One who can provide it – God.

So, grab a notebook and your Bible and let’s walk through the next month together focusing on being restful instead of restless. There is a place of calm, quiet, and peace for us and it’s near the heart of our sweet, sweet Father.

It’s time to be still … and know.

Kristina
