Sketchbook Scriptures: Isaiah 35

The Bible. It is known as the Word of God, Scripture, the Good Book. I fully believe that God inspired the writers of this amazing book. But you know what? It’s written by people, about people and for people. Just like you and me. And just like each of us is unique, the way we interact with the Bible is different. The stories that affect us, the characters that inspire us, the words that we ponder, the prayers we pray and the way God reveals Himself differs from person to person. Now, I am not a seminary graduate, nor do I preach from a pulpit (probably just like you!), but I do know that God meets me within these pages. Isaiah 35 is one of my comfort chapters. The imagery written here speaks of a new future, a different future than the current reality. It points to Jesus, and hope, and gladness and joy. It’s like a hug. Here are some thoughts on Isaiah 35.
