Oh dear friends, I woke up this morning in a total panic and not exactly sure why. Do you have those days where you’re anxious about something but not exactly sure why? I immediately read the Prayer devotional by Tonya from Revival Camp and it totally spoke to me in the moment of need. It’s amazing how just asking God to calm my anxious heart works so quickly. I’m such a doer normally. I usually grab my essential oils and do some deep belly breathing… and prayer usually is my last resort, sigh! It was such a relief to go to my Bible and prayer and the devotional first instead.

Right after breakfast I went straight to my supplies that I had pulled for Revival Camp and said another prayer that God would guide my steps. I thought it would be fun to share with you what usually happens when I’m not trying out a new technique or just in the worship zone.

First, I surround myself with all the supplies I’ve gathered.

I always start with painting the background, using many of the techniques we’ve shared before… sometimes I choose scraping paint with paint card, or grab my baby wipes, or grab my paint brushes. The baby wipes were the closest to me so I just grabbed them and started swiping paint onto my page. I tend to use three paint colors for the background.

Next, I grab my stamps and fill in the spaces with imperfect stamping… the more the merrier. There are two stamp sets I usually go to… the kit stamp set and then the Elements stamp set. There was enough in this stamp set that I didn’t pull out the Elements one.

As you can see above, I didn’t stamp the whole stamp down, just parts of it and I didn’t worry about perfection.

I wanted to add more color so I had some fun with the arrows and cross.

Next, I fill in areas with some washi tape and highlight the passage.

Then when I’m happy with my background, I start adding a “title” usually with die cuts or alphabet stickers… but I thought this lettering clear sticker was so perfect… it made me think “Jesus, take the wheel.” Then I saw the super cute car in the die cuts and felt it really tied it all in together. I grabbed the oars because that’s what’s on the cute badge so I wanted to recreate the prayer badge too.

Lastly, I always journal a prayer or message to myself and add a date stamp.

Thanks Heather for sharing your page! I can so relate with what you spoke about, waking up for some unknown reason with an anxious heart and so many times, I do just what you spoke on, prayer as my last resort! Why do we react like that? Especially when we know beyond a shadow of a doubt that God is just what we need! Thank you again for sharing this, I know I needed to hear it and that I’m not the only one who does that! I really enjoyed seeing your step by step process too! Big hugs! Sheryl
