I think more often than not when we are waiting, we are waiting to know.
We want to know when something will happen or to know when we will meet someone.
We want to know the outcome of a situation or to know that things will be okay.
The thing is, we don’t always get to know the answers, at least not on this side of Heaven. We will pray prayers which will be answered in ways we may never know or see in our lifetime.
What we do know is WHO knows. God is the Creator of all things and He knows all things. Therefore, when we don’t know, we can trust that He does.
In Deuteronomy 29:29 sits one of my favorite encouragements for times of waiting and seasons of longing to know this, that, or the other that feels just out of reach.
The secret things belong to the Lord our God, but the things revealed belong to us and to our children forever, that we may follow all the words of this law.
The secret things belong to Him, as in they are kept safe and held close, and if anyone is to be trusted with them, it’s Him. While we may not know all that we wish to know, we can hold fast to the knowledge that He knows, sees, and is in all things.
I needed to hear this today!! I really struggle with waiting and not knowing and I’d never thought about it like this! I may not know how things are going to turn out, but God does- and if I can trust anyone with the knowing it’s Him!! Thanks for giving me a new perspective xx
