Print and Pray Basics | Traveler's Notebook Process Video by Jillian aka Hello Jillsky using digital printables

I’ve settled back into my routine after getting back from the Illustrated Faith staff retreat last week at the Whatever Craft House. I’m still reflecting on all the wonderful sister time-laughs, chats and jokes. And, I’m still soaking in the wisdom from our teacher Robin <3 What better way to do that than journal?!

For those of you who don’t know, the Whatever Craft House is a magical place where the theme is love, vintage details and rainbows. Rainbows everywhere. Like I said, it’s magical. It was only fitting that today’s journal pages in my traveler’s notebook feature a large patchwork rainbow.

Like you, I am a Print & Pray enthusiast and have several sets that have been oohed over, cut into and pasted in my bible margins. And then there are the scraps. Do you save scraps? Some I just can’t part with.

Today I wanted to make good use of those odd shaped leftover pieces of washi strips and patterned paper and incorporate them into my patchwork rainbow with rainbow (oh, I couldn’t have even planned that!) grid labels and colorful tile alpha sets.

To make the rainbow, I drew six wonky arches onto a piece of 8.5×11 white card stock and cut pieces of red and pink washi and patterned paper to fit into the outermost arch. Once all of the blank space was covered I cut it out and put it aside to work on the next color, orange. I repeated the process for each color, layering the scraps until the arch was full.

Once I had all six colors completed, I assembled the rainbow in my traveler’s notebook, working up from the little purple arch. Then I glued three black grid labels in my journal and cut tile alphabet letters out to spell the words make, making and made. I layered some washi under each grid label and splattered black watercolor around the patchwork rainbow.

I plan on going back and adding my notes in the blank space around the rainbow- I know I have more to say than will fit in those cute labels :)

I would love to see how you use your Print & Pray scraps! Be sure to share your pages with #printprayshop so we can see!
