In one study, it was shown, that the Milky Way has a mass of about 100 billion stars. This accounts for the stars that would be bigger or smaller than our sun, and averages them out. 100 billion! And that is just the amount of stars that are in our tiny little galaxy which is minute compared to the infinite abyss of the universe. God placed each and every one of those stars in the sky. God knows the name of each star. He created images by playing “dot-to-dot” with those stars. HOW AMAZING IS THAT?
The night sky is something that has intrigued me my entire life. It’s one of those things that you wonder how some people could look up at night and not believe in God. I love the constellation, Orion. I don’t know why it’s my favorite, but it is. My dad’s favorite constellation is the “Teapot of Sagittarius.” I have spent many nights of my childhood looking at the stars with my dad in the backyard with his telescope. Stars are my thing.
This past weekend was my husband and I’s 7th wedding anniversary. For a little token of love, Adam got me this necklace from Day Spring.
I’m a tad bit obsessed with it :) My favorite part about is the scripture reference that is engraved on the back, “It is God who made the Bear, Orion, and the Pleiades and the groups of stars in the southern sky. He does wonders that cannot be understood; He does so many miracles they cannot be counted.” Job 9:9-10
As soon as I got this necklace, and looked at the beautiful enclosed card, I knew that I wanted to create a page in my Bible commemorating the creativity of our Creator and the sweet gift commemorating out anniversary.
God never ceases to amaze me with his creativity and design. His attention to detail and beauty, strictly for us to gaze upon makes my heart so incredible happy. I want to challenge you to go outside tonight, look above you and reflect on the awe and wonder of the heavens, and the fact that God put it there just for you!!
