Hey sweet friends! Today I’m excited to share something fun I’ve been working on the last several weeks. In September I started a scripture writing challenge in the hopes of learning more scriptures and being in the Word more often. I enjoyed it so much! I loved the small tasks – just a few verses each week – and that I could decorate my pages and make it pretty too! Well guess what? I actually completed September’s challenges!! That’s how much I enjoyed it!

Before we dive in to what’s on this page – let’s talk about setup and supplies. The Illustrated Faith Agenda Planner was sitting on my shelf looking so pretty but I had nothing to plan in it. This gorgeous notebook was calling my name once I decided to do the challenge and turns out the pages are perfect for scripture! Beyond that, I use a pen, washi and stickers that fit the theme. It is pretty simple, friends!

The theme for September was contentment and I feel like that word goes hand in hand with gratitude. Knowing that what you have is all you need. Being grateful that you’ve been blessed with very little or an abundance. It’s not always easy but it’s so important. This week on the Illustrated Faith blog we are focusing on the new collection Gratitude Documented and had so much fun playing with these fresh fall colors!

In Psalms 37:3-4 it talks about trusting the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. I have lived this and am confident He wants to give us the best. We prayed for a long time that my husband would be employed in his field without the stress of self-employment we have lived for a decade. We prayed specifically. We trusted. We were grateful for every job that came our way. But we asked for stability. We desired security. We had faith when we really needed that prayer to come alive – there He was. Full-time. Salary beyond what we asked for. Flexible schedule. An office in town. That is God providing because we have been faithful and we have been good. This verse couldn’t have come at a better time!

And then Timothy! A gentle reminder to do good with the blessings we’ve been given. His timing is perfection to the max and this is a verse that was fun to weave onto the page.

When I work on these pages, I like to look at the supplies I’m using and see if any of them repeat what the verse is saying because I love to mix in different elements. I found a gorgeous scripted LOVE die cut and knew I had to add it to the verse. I normally start at the top left to start with the verse name, write the scripture, then work the elements around it, leaving room for another verse if possible. It’s a colorful and meaningful little puzzle!

Documenting my gratitude will happen in the pages of my bible or in my personal notebooks, but this activity opens up so much of the Word that I wouldn’t have seen before. It has led me into my bible more often, searching for the rest of the story. I am making connections with the scriptures that didn’t dawn on me before. For a girl like me who isn’t very knowledgeable about God’s Word, I am becoming so much more comfortable. I am grateful for this life, all His blessings and the Word that He gives us as a guide. I hope you are finding your way into the Word more often these days!

So that’s a look at my scripture notebook and some fun ways to use the new Gratitude Documented collection. There are die cuts and chipboard pieces and papers to cut apart and WASHI. And the colors are amazing!

Thanks for joining me today, friends!
See you soon!
Andrea
