When I saw these pretty pricklies, I knew they were itching to join the series, and they were worth the wait! ;) Cacti are definitely on trend, but there’s something about them so striking, too. They can wait out the summer sun, outlast the horrific heat, and still stand beautifully through it all. They are prepared for the heat; it’s in the way they’re made.
There’s something in us that craves for more, that wants it now and will not be satisfied until we get it. Our Heavenly Father created us for life in Heaven with Him, something beyond what we can experience here on earth, and we thirst for it. On earth, we can sometimes try to dull the pain of waiting and fill the gap with other things, but He is worth holding on for.
“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him,
to those who seek him;
it is good to wait quietly
for the salvation of the Lord.”
LAMENTATIONS 3:25 +26
Whatever you’re waiting for, wait in hope. Wait WITH hope. When our hope is in Him and not in an outcome or any other thing, we won’t be disappointed. When our hope is in Him, our answer is His plan for us, whether it’s a yes or no or the picture perfect ending we imagined.
When our hope is in Him, our eyes are on the Creator of the universe who holds the world in His hands and prepared the cactus for the sun. We can withstand it all with Him.
