In waiting seasons it can be easy to become discouraged and to forget the goodness of God. We get so wrapped up in our timelines and the list of prayers unanswered that we can lose sight of the truth about who God is and how He has shown up when we’ve needed Him in the past.
Today I have a simple challenge for you:
List the ways and reasons God is worthy of your love.
By committing to a habit of gratitude, we are re-teaching our heart how to rightly view God and our circumstances. This does not discount the hard times we may be walking through, or negate the power of prayers of faith as we ask for that thing we are waiting on, but choosing joy and gratitude changes the course of the journey.
If you don’t know where to start, thumb through the Psalms. David shows us a beautiful picture of living in faith through high highs and low lows. His emotions are raw, his struggles are real, and his cries to God are desperate. But his praises follow frequently and beautifully as he names the ways God is good.
Trust me. This could make all the difference.
