One of the most impactful tools given to me during college was a list of 10 daily declarations. Each declaration is scripturally based and meant to help you walk in TRUTH rather than the lies this world throws at us. Anyone else fall for the lies all too often? *raises hand* You know I do.
When I was first given the list, my mentor challenged me to say the declarations out loud every morning for 30 days, then at the end of those 30 days look back and see how God moved. Look back and see the work God did in my heart. Oh man, what a challenge!
This month I decided to illustrate each of the 10 declarations, patterning them with the tool that has helped me most in this season (my journaling Bible!) and to share them with you today. What surprised me the most is how much easier they were to remember when I had an illustrated page to associate with them!
Here is the list of Daily Declarations and their scriptures:
- My prayers are powerful and effective. (James 5:16b)
- God richly supplies all my financial needs. (Philippians 4:19)
- I am dead to sin and alive to obeying God. (Romans 6:11)
- I walk in ever-increasing health. (Isaiah 53:3-5, Psalm 103: 1-3)
- I live under a supernatural protection. (Psalm 91)
- I prosper in all my relationships. (Luke 2:52)
- I consistently bring God encounters to other people. (Mark 16:17, 18)
- Through Jesus I am 100% loved and worthy to receive all of God’s blessings. (Galatians 3:1-5)
- Each of my family members is wonderfully blessed and radically loves Jesus. (Acts 16:30, 31)
- I uproariously laugh when I hear a lie from the devil. (Psalm 2:2-4)
I think #10 might be my favorite, cause y’all. THOSE LIES. They get me good! So I’m laughing them away and replacing them with the truth of these daily declarations. Care to give it a go?
These past few weeks, declaration #3 has been on repeat and it’s my go-to, although instead of declaring it over myself I’ve been declaring it over my younger brother. He’s had health problems, tests, and a major procedure, and praise the Lord that all went well! Even so, this is the truth that I cling to, praying for complete healing and recovery in the weeks to come. I declare that HE walks in ever-increasing health. Today, tomorrow, and the day after.
I placed this declaration in it’s verse, Isaiah 53:5.
But he was pierced for our transgressions;
he was crushed for our iniquities;
upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace,
and with his wounds we are healed.
Yes and amen! By the blood of the Lamb we are healed, He has taken our sin and pain and closed the distance between us and the father on the cross. He is the Ultimate Healer, the Great Physician, and He holds us in His gentle hands.
I know it can be discouraging to pray for miraculous healing and not see it, or to walk alongside someone with an illness that is devastating and unfair. Another mentor once told me that healing by surgery or therapy is not God’s plan B. It doesn’t mean God has failed to heal but that He may have another path to healing. And sometimes that path means healing will only happen on the other side of Heaven, but our God is a good God who remains with us in the pain, in the process, in the pursuit of His heart and will.
No matter where you find yourself or your loved ones , I pray that His healing hand be near and that comfort be found in His words. He is near to you. Today.
