Bible Journaling Process by April Crosier | Process in the Challenge | Revival Camp | 2 Corinthians 12:9

You know those moments when God whisper-yells your name?

HEY APRIL! YOU NEED TO HEAR THIS! THIS WAS DONE JUST FOR YOU!

But like…. a little less shouty, because God is more loving than all caps yelling, you know?  Opening up the final Revival Camp kit & immediately reaching for my sweet friend Elaine’s devotional on challenge was exactly the whisper-yell I’m talking about, y’all.  Literally everything my heart needed to hear & everything I had been sharing about of my own accord on my instagram account…. nestled perfectly in just a handful of paragraphs that I heard in Elaine’s voice as I read it in my head.

I wanted to write the entire devotional in my margin, it was just that good & on point.  I love how God does that, don’t you?

I pulled a few of my favorite sentiments to think about, pray about & journal about — then got busy with my hands + some paints.  My current mood & mode is revolving heavily around SIMPLE, since my creative time revolves heavily around a newborn baby ;) Three paints, a little ephemera & a whole lot of love was all I needed to creatively worship God on this page!

I quickly smeared some favorite paint colors down in my margin & outlined my focal verse for this page of worship.

2 Corinthians 12:9 says this….

But He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

I have been constantly reminding myself that God loves me in my weakness & His grace abounds every single day + moment.  Opening up my chunky, very full journaling bible to see this popular passage with a blank margin was yet another God-wink that I needed to be digging in right here, right now.

As my paint dried, I pulled out a piece of ephemera I had been hoarding since the All People All Nations line released earlier this year.  I could just hear Elaine saying “Hey Girl Heyyyyy” as she wrapped me in a hug of words through her devo…. so I knew it was the perfect time to use this little piece of paper!

I crafted up a crepe paper pinwheel from Elaine’s tutorial found HERE + glued both pieces together on top of a shiny gold mini doily & attached the layered ephemera piece to my margin.  Within just a handful of moments, I had crafted up a gorgeous + fun worship-full margin and was ready to pray it out.

I’m so very thankful for God’s love, His faithfulness & His grace…. and just as thankful for those whisper-yells He speaks into my life through the writings & love of others.  Being able to share how God works in + through my life — the good, the bad & the not so pretty — is an honor, knowing that anything I share points glory back to God & His power.  Life is messy friends, but God is good throughout it all.

Elaine, thank you for scribbling down these precious words that God laid on your heart…. words that so many others needed to hear, but mostly me.  Thanks for being a God-wink in my life, sweet friend! xo
