hybrid Bible journaling entry using digital printables by Cristin Howell | Good and Perfect Gifts

Hi friends! It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Christmastime is my favorite. I love the festivities, the songs, the food, the lights, and I love that we have the entire month of December to celebrate Jesus’ birth!

But let’s talk about the shopping. Do you make a gift list to stay organized? I admit that I struggle with the shopping lists. I’m thankful for gift cards because I can be thoughtful, but yet save on shipping, which is always great for far away family members.

Sometimes, though, when I’m out shopping, I’ll see something special that is just perfect for someone I love. It’s like a little nudge that says, “buy this for so and so.” That little whisper is always right on target. I like to think it’s a little God whisper, and it makes me feel so loved, because it reminds me that God looks out for His children in so many ways. I love this perspective of giving: each gift a chance for us to show the love of God toward others.

The bible says every good and perfect gift is from God (James 1:17). He’s the ultimate creator. He created everything in the heavens! If He can create so much beauty for us to live in, it’s not surprising that He can create perfect gifts for us. He loves us so much and what’s even more special is that He KNOWS us. He will never give us a gift that doesn’t fit or one with strings attached. His gifts are the right size, the right color, your name is spelled right and everything is good and perfect. He gives the BEST gifts.

I’ve bought exactly one present on my yet-to-be-written gift list. I was at a Christmas craft show and I felt that little nudge, and there you have it. This year, I will probably (read: definitely) buy some gift cards, but I’m going to pay extra attention to that little whisper that says, “hey, you know who would like that…”

Thanks for hanging out with me today. I hope your Christmas season is full of joy! <3, Cristin
