Do you like to journal? I know, silly question for a bunch of Bible journalers! But do you document those God winks, the big (and small) moments in your faith journey? Writing down the who, what, where, whens? If not, I hope today’s project will encourage you to consider it!

Today I’m using Mandy Ford’s Print and Pray set Fall Away to document one of those moments in my traveler’s notebook. It’s so fun to take sermon notes, jot down Bible study notes, and write what’s on my heart in these little notebooks. They usually have no more than thirty pages and I can go through one in about six weeks. The TN insert becomes a little time capsule, featuring what I was reading/listening to and what I want to remember from that time. And I so enjoy thumbing through them months later.

Not long ago friends offered my husband and me concert tickets and free baby-sitting. I was excited for a date night (yessss!) And because the concert was at the church I attended in high school. I had great memories there and I wondered if it was the same all these years later. While we were singing along and worshiping I thought of the baptismal hidden behind the lights and backdrop from the concert, where I was baptized nearly eighteen years earlier.  I thought about where I had been, what I had (and hadn’t) done in those eighteen years and I started to tear up. For the first time I realized that through everything, the Lord had been graciously pursuing me even when I hadn’t been pursuing Him.

I wanted to document my time at the concert that night and Mandy’s set had the perfect pieces to do so. After all, He had been holding on to me that whole time.

I featured Mandy’s patterned papers and Psalm 23:6 on the right side of my spread. I printed the ephemera and scallop borders on clear sticker paper and mixed them in with my journaling on the left. Finally, I used alpha stickers to pull out big words that I wanted to highlight from my journaling.

I can assure you that this experience is not unique to me. He loves you, friend, and is pursuing your heart also! I hope this truth comforts and fulfills you today. <3
