Hi friends! It’s Cristin here. Today, I wanted to write a little about thankfulness. Let’s look at the words of Psalm 9: 1-2:
“I will give thanks to the Lord with my whole heart;
I will recount all of your wonderful deeds.
I will be glad and exult in you;
I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”
This season that is just beginning brings so much joy to me. Who else loves watching the summer fade away into the beautiful colors of fall? As soon as I see the pumpkins and crunchy leaves, I know Gratitude Documented is just around the corner. Even though it’s not time to start the official Gratitude Documented month, I love using the October Better Together sets to create bible entries expressing my thankfulness to God for all the things he has done.
By getting started early, I’ve already got that gratitude habit going. Then, when November starts, I’m beginning the month with a heart of thankfulness and worship. A few years ago, I listened to a podcast episode all about gratitude – how it’s different than positive thinking, how it actually changes the neuroplasticity of our brains, and how we need to practice it as a habit. All this from one podcast. As believers, we have so much for which to be thankful!
Psalm 9 is so good, and it encourages me to be thankful and remember all the wonderful things the Lord has done. And when I fill my heart with thoughts of the Lord’s goodness, I have no room left for worry. With each thought focused on Him, I can exchange my heart’s worries for His peace. For this page, I used Elaine’s newest set, Gratitude is Key. I absolutely love the fancy keys and lettering in her set, not to mention those beautiful flowers. I kept my page super simple by printing her set on clear sticker paper, and adding a little acrylic paint to the background. To get the faded look, while the pink paint was wet, I dabbed white paint right on top, mixing them together with the same brush.
I also used the new Word Nerd Vellum Cross Stickers available in the Illustrated Faith shop. I love how the colors match the October mood board! There are also products from 3 other digital sets – you can see them linked below! Thank you friends for joining me here today! Let me know how you incorporate thankfulness into your day! I would love to hear!
