When was the last time you just straight-up relaxed while journaling & let God speak through you? That’s what I did while creating this page & I felt SO fulfilled afterward. The recent weeks have been busy & stressful for me. With the holiday season upon us, I know they’re just going to get more busy. Oye. But the truth of the matter is that He gives us rest from whatever has us wound so tightly.
We’re so blessed to have this Big Book of Knowledge– the Guide to Life, the Good Book, the Holy Bible. Everything we need to know is right in there. Sometimes the answers are hard to find & it takes some page-flipping & soul-searching to get there, but the answer is in those pages. And the answer I needed was on page 1071 in the Book of Matthew:
“Come to me, all who labor and are heavy laden and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle & lowly in heart & you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy & my burden is light,” (Matthew 11:28-30, ESV)
There are so many possible reasons why your personal gas gauge might be running on Empty: stressful job, family chaos, personal burden, medical complications, giving so much of yourself to others, mental anxiety or exhaustion, the list goes on. But no matter what the cause, He is the answer. You can rest in Him, friend. He is the most important facet of your life, everything else is just background noise.
Reach out to your Heavenly Father this week. Ask Him to help you keep your heart on Him this holiday season, & not the hustle & bustle that distracts us from what’s really important. Ask the Lord to remind your body & soul how to rest & renew your spirit before Him. He will reenergize you & provide exactly what you need! Let’s rejoice together in praise for our God who knows all & gives all!
