oh man, I love gesso in my art journal and I’m really sad you didn’t love it. if you try it again, let it dry completely before adding other mediums on top – it will stiffen up a bit [sometimes I take the lightest sandpaper and sand the top very gently]. it might give you a better experience!

I’m always so inspired by your videos, so while I was snowed in last week, I did some technique and process videos on my blog. I still need lots of practice, but I love teaching new techniques. Thank you for sharing this.

this was so helpful to me! I copied some of the techniques and it worked so much better than the ways I had been experimenting. especially the blotting. and the visual triangle was also very helpful.

Love the ‘look’! Try using Art Basics CLEAR Gesso…a light coat works great. Do dry it, but it doesn’t take long. I’ve been able to use my alcohol markers with great success and no bleed thru to the other side. Since it is clear, it doesn’t affect the colors either. Oh yeah, and the other side of the page is already prepped too! Keep up the awesome inspiration…looking forward to seeing you back in TX again.

What a beautiful page! So inspired….and impatiently waiting for my bible to arrive!!

Can you tell me where to find the prayer journal you showed for your girls?

I love the idea! What a wonderful keepsake for them…..and useful tool for me as a mom as I pray them through these years :)
