This is my favorite time of the year with Illustrated Faith. I love all of the Advent cards and devotionals from our team members and Shanna always does an amazing job with kit goodies!
This year I am EXTRA excited about journaling along with my six-year-old in Shanna Noel’s new book, The Wonder of Christmas!
I thought it would be fun to show you how I journal along with my little one, I had planned on doing side by side pages, but once she saw what I was up to she said, “momma. I got this, you just take the pictures.” So I stepped back and let her do her thing.
I did ask questions as she journaled, so grab your favorite holiday snack and let’s chat with Miss. E and see how she works through this new holiday devotional for kids.
Hi, I’m E and I am so excited to journal with Ms. Shanna!
Let me tell you about my page…
Q: Why did you pick these stickers?
A: I liked all the colors. I really like pink!
Q: The book asks you to create art that reflects something special about the song. What are you going to create?
A: Well, I want to use this stocking..because I really like this stocking and wish I had it!…but then we read Mary’s Song and I really liked the part about God remembering Mary and I like that He remembers me too.
Q: What did you write behind your snowglobe?
A: ‘Thank you, Jesus, for remembering me’
Q: Is there anything else you want to add to your page? If so, what and why?
A: YES! Stamps, OF COURSE!!!! …I don’t know why maybe these birds can be visiting Jesus.
Q: E. what do you think of this journal? Would you recommend it to other kids and their mommy’s?
A: I like that it talks about Jesus. I like all the pictures and drawings inside. YES! I think all the kids need Ms. Shanna’s book!
