Hark! The herald angels sing, glory to the new-born King! Happy Monday, friends! I’m sharing a new Bible journaling process video with one of my all-time favorite verses and a whole lot of Print & Pray pieces. A mash-up if you will :) In my video I share how I’ve been working through the Come and Carol kit, picking verses and covering elements that peeked through the backside of a Bible page.

Each day I journal I listen to that day’s song and read through the song lyrics (found online). Typically one or two lyrics in particular will resonate and I’ll note those in my TN. From there I look for a Bible verse that goes with that lyric. A Bible concordance or Google are both helpful for finding relevant passages. Today two lyrics jumped out at me, peace on earth and mercy mild, God and sinners reconciled and pleased with us in flesh to dwell, Jesus our Immanuel. This passage in Colossians, one of my favorites, was the perfect place to journal.

“For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him, and through him to reconcile to himself all things, whether things on earth or things in heaven, by making peace through his blood, shed on the cross.

Once you were alienated from God and were enemies in your minds because of your evil behavior. But now he has reconciled you by Christ’s physical body through death to present you holy in his sight, without blemish and free from accusation—”

Colossians 1:19-22 (NIV)

Next I gathered several Print & Pray sets- Mandy’s Thrill of Hope, Shawna’s Bright Christmas, Elaine’s Come and Carol Vintage Jumbo labels and Brianna’s Heaven and Nature Sing. I began by typing the song lyrics on the grid label. Originally I wanted to create a scene with Brianna’s angels and bits from Shawna’s set, but I couldn’t make it work in a way that I liked.

Instead, I decided to create frames using Shawna’s Bright Christmas pattered papers. I cut different size rectangles from each pattern, then cut out the inside to create a paper frame. Then I layered the frames on top of each other to bulk up the pink grid label. I really wanted the lyrics to be the focal point of the page.

I layered the frames and label on top of the dried paint and added stickers and stamps from the Come and Carol kit. I did manage to add one of Brianna’s angels near the top with additional frames-I couldn’t leave this cutie out!

Stars from Mandy’s patterned paper, washi and a date stamp were the finishing touches on page. I love how all of the Print & Pray Better Together sets coordinate with each other and the Come and Carol kit!
