Happy Monday, Revival Camp travelers! Are you ready for leg two of our trip, into the New Testament?! This week I’m sharing a bible journaling process video in Luke 24, walking through Becca’s devotional 7 Miles with Jesus.
Becca points us to the story of two of Jesus’ disciples traveling from Jerusalem to Emmaus shortly after Jesus’ resurrection.
Now that same day two of them were going to a village called Emmaus, about seven miles from Jerusalem. They were talking with each other about everything that had happened. As they talked and discussed these things with each other, Jesus himself came up and walked along with them; but they were kept from recognizing him.
He asked them, “What are you discussing together as you walk along?”
They stood still, their faces downcast. (Luke 24:13-17 NIV)
Jesus continues walking with them as they inform him of the previous days’ events. They mention the report of his resurrection from the women who had visited the tomb earlier that day. Jesus then explains to them what was said in all the Scriptures about himself (v. 27)
In her devotional Becca beautifully notes that Jesus was with these disciples the whole time in their journey-even in their hurt. She says, “He didn’t instantly take the pain away. He walked through it with them.”
We too can be certain that God is with us in our tough times, our good times, and everything in between! Doesn’t that just make your heart happy?!!
For this page I used a trusty ol’ baby wipe with some Neocolor II water-soluble wax pastels to create a base layer of color. Then I used the stencil included with the Revival Camp NT devotional kit and traced the inside of the triangle shapes with a white gel pen. Next I used the kit stamps and stickers to create my title, then layered some paper pieces underneath my journaling lines.
We’d love to have you join us for this next and final installment of 2019 Revival Camp through the New Testament! <3
