Hello! Jillian here, back with another Gratitude Documented Bible journaling page!
Your testimonies are my heritage forever,
for they are the joy of my heart.
Psalm 119:111 (ESV)
Today’s prompt is heritage and we’re pointed to Psalm 119:111. I had quite a bit swirling around in my mind for heritage and chose to work in my interleaved journaling Bible. I love having a WHOLE page to play with.
This prompt was perfect for playing paper dolls with the new Beloved Society Fall Paper Dolls set! (Make sure you grab the head stamp from the original Beloved Society paper dolls set!) I used patterned paper from Crate Paper’s Heritage collection to create her blouse, watercolored her locks and colored her skin with a Faber Castell brush pen. I wanted to layer her on top of more patterned paper and other embellishments so I chose to stamp each piece on white card stock. Assembling her was just like playing paper dolls when I was a girl-so fun!
Once the purple polka dot paper and paper doll were on my page I chose three larger elements for the focal piece. I used Jill’s vintage flashcard printables and a couple pieces of Heritage ephemera-a vintage looking photo and journaling spot. Next, it was time to add my title. I reached for the Vanessa alpha stencil and my journaling pen to trace the word heritage under my cluster.
I like the idea of using the flash cards as my tab for the top of the page. To create that look I printed the digital flash cards at 75% scale. They were just the right size to run through my We R Memory Keepers tab punch. I wish I had thought of this earlier! It would be a great way to easily identify all of my pages from this project. There’s always next year…
Finally, I adhered my tab, added more Heritage stickers, Word Nerd stamps and black watercolor splatters to finish off my page. And that’s it! It’s been so fun to follow along with everyone’s projects using the #if_gratitudedocumented tag. And, of course, it’s not too late to join us. You can download the free prompt list here. Have a great day!
