Happy Good Friday all. Is that a thing? To wish each other good, Good Friday? and what’s so good about Good Friday anyway? Huh. Well friends, that post is for another day because, Whew! I am loving Valerie Wieners “Beautiful” devotional. It seems to be just the right reminder I need in this season. It is also helping me cross a lot of “wish to illustrate” truths off my list. Like Ephesians 2:10 – For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
Of all the identities we can claim in Jesus Christ this has always been my favorite. Being an artist I feel like I can relate to the idea of a masterpiece. I know how proud I can feel when I create something I like – how much God must like us to say we are his best, his greatest creation?! wow. I have seen some amazing sunsets in my time, and the Colorado Rockies? whoa and God says I am his showpiece? His success? His gem? His jewel? prize? treasure? a piece of the master Himself? Yes, yes, yes and YES, AMEN! God says YOU are His best. Doesn’t that just take your breath away?! If he revealed to you right now exactly how much He loves you, you couldn’t handle it! And because He loves you so, shouldn’t you love yourself too? Please do.
