One of the biggest ways that I am inspired to journal in my Bible is by listening to worship music. I have a worship playlist going in the background at work all day and I love how positive and uplifted it makes me feel! Sometimes I get the words to a specific song stuck in my head and I have to do something about it! There’s something about the art of music that makes me want to create art on paper. Here is my most recent page based off of song lyrics:
“God of Miracles” by Chris McClarney
God of miracles come
We need your supernatural love
To break through
Nothing’s impossible
You are the God of miracles
I listen to this song at least three times a day lately because the words are just so powerful! I’m not sure if everyone knows this, but most worship song lyrics come from the Bible itself. So when I get song lyrics stuck in my head and I want to spend some more time with them in my Bible but don’t know where to put them, I usually do a search of the lyrics with the word “verse” at the end and a Bible verse usually comes up and I start there.
I wanted to focus on the chorus for this page, so after I did some simple watercoloring on the majority of the page, I handlettered the first part of the chorus as best as I could on the remaining blank space on the page. Practice makes progress, y’all. Even some handlettering as simple as this would have felt impossible to me a month ago. Keep trying!
My favorite part of making this page was listening to this song while painting and lettering. My heart felt so full! I want to encourage you to try listening to worship music if you feel uninspired, but still want to spend some time in God’s Word.

I love finding out that my favorite worship songs are actually mostly scripture! :D
I really appreciate posts with less material needed, for people with budget. Even if I bought stickers and three rolls of washi tape today ;-)
