It’s PRINT & PRAY FEATURE WEEK here on the blog!!! *activate confetti cannon!* And I’m excited to share the first hybrid project of the week! One of the things I love most about the Print & Pray Shop is how affordable it is. Seriously, you get a full set of RENEWABLE embellishments that you can print over & over again for a fraction of what it would cost at a store! One of Shanna’s biggest platforms of this brand is “Use what you have!” Of course we love our Illustrated Faith products to death, but Bible Journaling has always been all about the Word. All about getting into your Bible & using what you have rather than getting caught up in all the supplies. I love thinking up ways to use unconventional products I have lying around my house to really stretch my stash & create a unique Bible experience for myself. :) Today’s fun “Use What You Have Moment” is brought to you by fruit produce stickers!
I was inspired to create this page when Taylor Rauschkolb released her Seeds of the Gospel digital set. How beautiful are these fruits she painted! I’m constantly in awe of the talent we have on our Better Together Artist Team. I saw these fruits & they got me thinking about ACTUAL fruit (which made me hungry!) and made me think of ways I could illustrate a prayer over the Fruits of the Spirit. I’ve done pages about the Fruits of the Spirit before in other Bibles & it’s always fun to think of new ways to illustrate them.
The past couple of weeks I’ve been collecting the stickers that come on our fruit when we buy it from the grocery store. I had my mom save the stickers from theirs too because I wasn’t sure I’d have enough after only a couple of weeks from just our fruit. (My family is so used to me asking them to save weird stuff for crafting by now! haha) These fun stickers are so cute & colorful that it really brightened the page without me needing any paint!
I incorporated Taylor’s orange pieces from the printable set, some puffy crosses, highlighted Galatians 5:22-26, & wrote my prayer. That’s it! This page was incredibly easy & allowed me to focus on my prayer instead of obsessing over the page. :) My journaling reads:
“No one ever said that inheriting the kingdom of God would be simple or easy. There is so much temptation in this world. But praying over these Fruits of the Spirit really brings us closer. #lifegoals”
Our objectives for life are in black & white written right there in the Scripture: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, & self-control. I know several of those are things I really really need to work on. Taking time to do some focused prayer on each of these qualities is something we could ALL use. :)
Also as you’re going about your day, think about what unconventional supplies you could incorporate in your Bible that might inspire some focused prayer. It’s more than creativity, it’s inspiration for worship! Let us know what unconventional items you’ve used in your Bible! Use what you have, sweets! ;)
