Hey, y’all! Leah here from Salted Brew, showing my new set “Universal Faith” for the Illustrated Faith Dudes line. I had a little help from my boyfriend Adam too! Funny story: Elaine set us up after Abigail, our teen blogger, decided her uncle needed to meet me. :) hehe
Adam and I met not too long after I started doing Illustrated Faith Dudes. Now he helps me come up with ideas for y’all, then we journal together. It’s an easy date night for us and always fun to see his perspective on the sets. Sometimes we start off journaling the same verse or with one same piece. This time, we journaled our own verses with whatever pieces stood out to us. I journaled Psalm 19:1,
“The heavens declare the glory of God, and the sky above proclaims his handiwork.”
Adam journaled Psalm 136:4-9,
“To him who alone does great wonders,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who by understanding made the heavens, for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who spread out the earth above the waters, for his steadfast love endures forever;
to him who made the great lights,
for his steadfast loves endures forever;
the sun to rule over the day,
for his steadfast love endures forever;
the moon and stars to rule over the night,
for his steadfast love endures forever.”
When I started designing this set, I wanted it to feel nostalgic. To remind us of the days of dreaming to be an astronaut and sleeping in outer space bedsheets. When anything bigger than us took our breath away.
(Leah used glow-in-the-dark paint & stars to accentuate her page for a fun touch!)
Our God created and designed an impossibly vast universe, yet we are His treasured possessions. He delights in you, friend. The same God who makes us awestruck at a perfectly starry night sky or insane NASA photos LOVES you. He knows every hair on your head and designed you with the same skill and intentionality as He did when He created the galaxy.
This universal truth isn’t just for the dudes in our lives! Pick up a set, print out a couple copies, and have fun with your guys. Reflect on His awesomeness and His immeasurable, outta this world love for you.
