Happy Monday, campers! Or should I say “travelers”? I am all packed and ready to start on our Revival Camp adventure! This summer we’re going to travel through our bibles with some amazing contributors and fun supplies to document our journey. First up, the Old Testament! Today I’m sharing my first page in session one (Promises Fulfilled) from Brianna Showalter. She points us to the story of Noah and the flood in Genesis 6-9.
The animals going in were male and female of every living thing, as God had commanded Noah. Then the LORD shut him in. (Genesis 7:16, NIV)
In her devotional, Brianna says, “As the rains began to fall, Noah and his family entered the ark, and the Lord shut the door. I wonder if that was God’s mercy, sparing Noah the task of shutting the door on his community, even if they had scoffed at him.” And in her bible journaling prompt Brianna asks us to think of a time when God mercifully shut a door in our own life.
I can answer a big ‘ol YES (and thank you, Lord!!) to that one! When I began my relationship with Christ I saw the need to end another relationship, a not-so-good one. I prayed and God delivered in a way that only He could, removing that person from my daily life quite suddenly.
Using the Revival Camp kit and Florence alpha stickers I am writing a note of thanks to God for orchestrating that transition so mercifully. He is so, so good!
I can’t wait to journey through Revival Camp with you this summer! It’s sure to be a fun trip, documenting His awesome-ness as we go along!
