It’s kind of cool that I’m doing this post today – it’s my birthday! I worked on this page earlier this week not realizing that I would be writing about it today and how perfect it is for a birthday page! I chose this passage to illustrate this time because it is one of my favorite Psalms – it has some of my favorite verses – ones that I’ve prayed again and again over the years.
“Teach me your way, O Lord, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. I give thanks to you, O Lord my God, with my whole heart, and I will glorify your name forever.” Psalm 86:11, 12
This is the prayer of my heart and the goal of my life, so on my birthday, as I reflect on life and the year that just passed and look forward to the year ahead, I can truly say that there is no greater adventure than living life with God! I have so much anticipation for the future. I know God is working and I want to walk with Him with a thankful heart, glorifying His name in any way I can.
To highlight this Psalm in my Bible I used three colors of Neocolor crayons on the page and then went over it very lightly with a barely damp baby wipe to blur the lines that had formed with the crayons. I used rub ons and stickers to do the rest of the decorating on the page.
Like the tag says, “We are on a very special journey called life” and the best way to make that journey is step by step with the Lord.

Well Happy Birthday Debby !
Thank you for your post…and belated happy birthday wishes. I really like the effect of the Neocolor crayons + baby wipe. It’s a great, soft look. Definitely something to try!
I have a question for you: what bible are you using? I like that the format looks like it’s almost half verse and half journaling space. Also: what is the translation & what are the bible dimensions? I’d really appreciate the feedback. Thank you.
